Dear reader,

I'm amazed to realize that it's been four years since Long Thread Media started. It seems like just yesterday that we set off on this new path and created a new home for Handwoven, Spin Off, Little Looms, and PieceWork—a woman-owned independent media company with a single-minded dedication to fiber arts.

It looked a little crazy to our families, but as weavers, spinners, knitters, and needlecrafters, we knew what readers and fiber artists were longing for: Clear technical information. Lovely projects. Perspectives from other fiber artisans. Magazines, websites, and videos that would delight and inspire you.

We invested in excellent contributors, switched to high-quality paper, and added a podcast series that brings the fascinating people of the fiber world to you in their own voices. This year, we added a new project: Farm & Fiber Knits, which connects you with local farms, natural fibers, shepherds, and designers who create beautiful, sustainable handknits.

We've made it through the first four years thanks to the support of our subscribers. Looking around the craft world, we feel so grateful for the opportunity to bring you these publications, because every penny that you spend with us goes into improving what we provide you. And we have never relied on our readers more than we do now.

If you're not already a subscriber, I hope you'll consider subscribing to our communities—Handwoven, Spin Off, Little Looms, PieceWork, Farm & Fiber Knits, or all of them—and if you know someone who would enjoy what we create, I hope you'll share the joy with them through a gift subscription.

Warmly,
Anne Merrow
